As Western nations mourn the attacks in France, I continue to hear people comment, "But we can't condemn an entire religion based upon the actions of a few lunatics."
Bullshit!
When the Japanese navy bombed Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941, the American people didn't say, "Damn Japan's navy! But the Japanese people are a-okay."
When Hitler invaded France (as Chamberlain said Poland wasn't a problem), people didn't condemn the Nazis who held power, they condemned Germany.
When the people of a country do not actively oppose the criminal actions of its leaders they give implicit support of their actions. Thus the populous pays the price for their leaders actions. Estimates range from 350,000 to 650,000 German civilians killed in U.S. and British bombing raids.
Japan's citizenry were determined to fight to the death. Women, children and old men were trained to repel Allied soldiers with sharpened sticks on the beaches. An estimated 300,000 Japanese civilians were killed in the bombings of Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The outcome: Both Germany and Japan surrendered unconditionally.
When we give the people of Islam a pass when their leaders commit atrocities, we are doomed to fail in this war -- and it is a war.
In September 2015 the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader (spiritually as well as civilly) continued to lead demonstrations by the Iranian people shouting "Death to America", and calling the United Stated "The Great Satan". He stated Israel will be "wiped from the map" within 25-years.
When the people will not topple their leaders for war crimes, it is up to the rest of the world to throttle them before more harm is caused. If the people do not stand up they cannot expect mercy when the do not stand aside.
