I'm a road warrior at heart. I miss Katrin and the dogs, but I'm a different person on the road. I love returning to a clean room, standing upon the balcony and staring out, wondering about the adventure of the coming day. Staring down at the lone couple in the swimming pool and deciding not to use it so they can enjoy their privacy. I reinvent myself each time I'm on the road. Regardless of the situation, when I'm on the road I fit in -- I'm a chameleon. Airplane flights thrill me and I love collecting hotel reward stays. Growing up on Bewitched, I remain in awe of business travel. Packing bags, the taxi to the airport. "Gotta go visit clients.", you say. "I don't want to go." Secretly I live for these moments. Any time I reach Medallion status on Delta I think I've joined a private club. I wait for the secret handshake and have a confident strut as I move to the head of the line to board first. It's like a hidden world. I can suggest great dining in a dozen cities and can navigate as many international airports without consulting a directory.
When on the road I'm alone, but not lonely . . .
